A huge welcome to the Parents / Carers and children who will be joining Outwood Academy Acklam in September 2024. This page is designed to keep you informed with our Transition information / letters but also to ensure that any questions or queries you have are answered and you know how to contact us: -

If you feel that your child is entitled to Free School Meals, please contact Middlesbrough Council to make an application using the link below:
Please note that you must make an application for all of your children who attend the academy, therefore a new application must be made for your child who is joining us in September, even if they have siblings in another year group who also receive Free School meals.

In addition, letters from the previous Academic year can be found below, these will be updated as the year progresses to ensure all new letters are posted here. Your child's safety and education are at the forefront of everything we do at Outwood Academy Acklam and we can't wait to meet each and every one of them!!
To make the transition process easier, we ask that all Parents / Carers complete the data collection form. Please, complete this as promptly as possible, as these forms are vital to ensure that your child has the best possible start with us and enables them to access all school services, including school dinners and provides us with important information such as emergency contacts and any medical issues. A data collection form can also be collected from the Academy's Reception.

School Uniform
We will provide a free uniform bundle to each Year 7 student when they start school. As students grow out of their uniform, parents / carers will be expected to buy official replacements from our supplier

The new Year 7 free bundle of Outwood uniform will consist of: -
1 Blazer
2 White Shirts
1 pair black Trousers or Skirt
1 Tie
1 PE Games Jersey
1 PE Polo Top
1 PE Shorts
1 PE Socks
Information about ordering uniform will be sent to parents and carers in due course.
Year 7 uniform collection dates are outlined below:
Tuesday 23rd July 2024 - 10 am - 2.30 pm - Collection day.
Friday 2nd August 2024 - 10.30 am - 2 pm - Exchange day.
Monday 5 August - 10 am - 1.30 pm - Exchange day.
Please see below a copy of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust Hardship Policy and Application Form which details financial help that may be available towards the cost of any additional uniform. Once an application has been submitted to the Academy, a letter will be sent out confirming if it has been successful. Any successful applications will receive a code to be used online to access the discounted prices.
Please be aware that uniform orders are to be made online only as we no longer sell uniform direct to parents from the academy.
Data Collection

Bus Routes
Unfortunately the academy no longer runs a bus service for students, therefore Bus A & F routes will no longer be available. However students who currently use or require these bus routes are covered by Stagecoach buses.
Timetables are available on the Stagecoach website - www.stagecoachbus.com. The enrichment buses will also, no longer be available for students to access after enrichment. If you think you may be entitled or need help with access to travelling expenses email eia@middlesbrough.gov.uk or visit
